Domestic helper placement

Still choosing a helper? Start with matching support

Define the role first. Biodata, MOM history, a private reference and the interview are separate information, not proof of accuracy, suitability, availability or outcome.

When this route is the useful starting point

The working sequence

A clear route before case-specific paperwork

  1. Define the household role first

List the tasks, routines, safe-work expectations, communication, rest and timing. Assess relevant experience, never nationality, race, religion, age, appearance or another stereotype.

  2. Read biodata as information to clarify

Where an EA is involved, MOM says it must use the standard form to furnish the prospective employer with the FDW's full biodata. Ask how its statements were checked. A biodata document is not independent proof of accuracy, currency or suitability.

  3. Separate employment history and references

Biodata and MOM's employment record are different. MOM directs prospective employers to Singpass FDW eService, or an EA, using name or FIN, nationality or citizenship, and date of birth. Never paste them into a public message or form. History does not prove performance or retention. A past employer may volunteer as referee, but MOM says it does not access, verify or attach feedback to the record. Keep it private; a reference does not prove suitability.

  4. Interview respectfully; distinguish MOM's process

A candidate-selection interview happens before hiring; it is a pre-hiring conversation between the prospective employer and intended helper. Cover the role, safe work, experience, communication, expectations and rest; invite the helper to ask questions. Answers clarify, not investigate or guarantee. Do not solicit diagnoses, pregnancy information, private family history, financial information or unrelated sensitive details. Do not confuse this with MOM's MDW Interview, a separate compulsory post-employment well-being process for first-time MDWs; lifecycle steps stay outside this page.

What this public page does not confirm

  • No public candidate catalogue, helper profile, biodata library, photo or availability claim exists. Do not send a biodata document, CV, passport, FIN, Work Permit, IPA, medical, salary, bank, payment or referee record in first contact.
  • Case review needs a protected private handoff; this page does not activate one or claim suitability or a successful match.
  • Selection guidance is not agency verification, a background check, case acceptance or a route decision.
  • Here, “import” is only plain language for an overseas placement or Work Permit application context, not a separate MOM category. MOM owns eligibility, official records, applications and outcomes.
